TROIS-RIVIERES, QC – October 31, 2026 – The Maine Mariners, proud affiliates of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, fell 4-2 on Saturday afternoon to the Trois-Rivieres Lions at Colisee Videotron. Wyllum Deveaux and Jack Works had two points each for the Mariners, as they saw a three game win streak come to an end.
Getting off to a much better start than Friday night, the Mariners struck first with a goal from their fourth line. Ryan McGuire and Wyllum Deveaux worked the puck down low to Jack Works, who slipped a quick backhander between the pads of Hunter Jones for a 1-0 Maine lead at 2:51 of the opening period. Former Mariner Brooklyn Kalmikov tied it up with a goal at 11:13, and it was 1-1 after 20 minutes.
It remained a 1-1 game until the latter portion of 2nd period, when the Lions netted two goals in a span of 1:07. Nathael Roy finished a Mathieu Bizier wraparound attempt at 16:32, and then the Lions quickly converted on the first power play chance of the game at 17:49, with defenseman Jacob Dion beating Max Lundgren with a screen shot from the point.
It appeared that Ben Allison had closed the deficit to one with about eight minutes to play, but the goal was disallowed upon video review. Kalmikov tossed in a long empty net goal at 17:01 to make it 4-1 before Wyllum Deveaux netted his first goal of the season 44 seconds later. Hunter Jones stopped 25/27 to improve to 4-0 while Max Lundgren made 17 saves in the losing effort.
