PORTLAND, ME – August 7, 2026 – The Maine Mariners, proud affiliates of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, have announced the re-signing of forward Ben Allison. The rookie forward played seven games for the Mariners in 2025-26, plus five more in the postseason.
A 23-year-old forward from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Allison joined the Mariners in late March after finishing his collegiate career at Saint Mary’s University of USports, where he was the team’s leading scorer with 50 points in 30 games. In seven games as a Mariner at the end of the regular season, he scored one goal and added one assist.
Allison made his Kelly Cup Playoffs debut in the North Division Finals against Wheeling, appearing in Game 3, and registering a goal and two assists for the number one star in the Mariners’ 6-3 victory. He scored again in Game 5 two nights later.
Prior to attending Saint Mary’s, Allison skated in seven games with the Wichita Thunder in the 2022-23 season, posting three points. He played his junior hockey in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Gatineau Olympiques, and Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Ben’s father, Scott Allison played professionally from 1992-2006, including 18 career games in the ECHL and 245 in the AHL.
The Mariners 2026-27 season begins on Saturday, October 17th at Worcester with the Home Opener one week later on Saturday, October 24th, a 1 PM puck drop against the Railers.
