WORCESTER, MA – October 10, 2026 – The Maine Mariners, proud affiliates of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, completed a preseason sweep of the Worcester Railers with a 4-1 victory on Saturday night at the Worcester Ice Center. The Mariners scored four unanswered goals after facing a 1-0 deficit, while Max Lundgren made 24 saves in the exhibition victory.
The Railers netted the opening goal of the night at 5:21 of the first period, as Lincoln Hatten redirected Adam Samuelsson's shot from the left point. Maine's Jack Works found the equalizer at 8:56, drilling a wrister from the high slot past a screened William Lavalliere.
At 3:55 of the second period, Mariners forward Kalle Vaisanen broke the tie when his wrister beat Lavalliere's glove up high to give Maine its first lead of the game. Maine played a strong defensive middle frame, limiting the Railers to four shots.
Defenseman Dylan MacKinnon added an insurance goal at 14:45, coming down the right wing and beating Chase Clark with a shot inside the post. Wyllum Deveaux sealed the game with an empty netter at 17:09.
Max Lundgren stopped 24/25 to earn the win, while Lavalliere and Clark faced a combined 21 shots in the Railers net.
The regular season begins on Saturday, October 17th at Worcester with the Home Opener one week later on Saturday, October 24th, a 1 PM puck drop against the Railers.
