PORTLAND, ME – August 12, 2026 – The Maine Mariners, proud affiliates of the NHL's Boston Bruins and AHL's Providence Bruins, have re-signed defenseman Owen Gallatin. A rookie in 2025-26, Gallatin originally joined the Mariners last November.
Acquired in a trade from the Fort Wayne Komets in early November 2025, Gallatin became a regular on the Mariners blue line for the remainder of the season. He appeared in 46 games for Maine, scoring his first two professional goals, and adding 15 assists. His second goal came in overtime on March 8th vs. Adirondack, clinching the Mariners’ 10th win in a row on their memorable 11-game streak.
The 24-year-old Gallatin appeared in all 14 games of the Mariners’ 2026 Kelly Cup playoff run, posting seven more points (two goals, five assists). Both of his goals came in the North Division Finals vs. Wheeling.
Prior to coming to Maine, Gallatin skated in ten regular season games and two playoff contests for Fort Wayne between 2024-25 and 2025-26. He played collegiately at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2021-2025. Gallatin is a native of Hugo, MN.
